The 2015 Prom Benefit will highlight Juvenile Diabetes, or Type 1 Diabetes. 

 

Type 1 diabetes strikes both children and adults at any age. It comes on suddenly, causes dependence on injected or pumped insulin for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications.As many as three million Americans may have T1D.  The prevalence of T1D in Americans under age 20 rose by 23 percent between 2001 and 2009.

There will be a table at Prom check-in where Prom attendees can make a donation and also enter our Benefit Drawings.  For every $5 donation, attendees will receive one raffle ticket, which can then be put in a bucket for a raffle item.  We are currently working on obtaining items for our raffle; in the past, items have included laptops, an iPad, and a beach vacation.
